Pete Burns

It’s another big loss to music and pop culture. If there really is a place called heaven, it just got a lot more glam! 


I was lucky enough to meet Pete in 2002 when Dead or Alive was the headliner at SF Pride. I had designed all of the theme graphics for the event. The press conference the day before was a flurry of activity with celebrities and egos galore. When Dead or Alive entered the room I found Pete to be the opposite of what you’d expect—soft spoken, modest and even a bit shy. That all melted away (of course) when he hit the stage. 


I’ve always been a huge fan—the music, the image, the energy. My heartfelt condolences go out to Lynne, Michael and Steve. I can’t image the loss you must be feeling. RIP Pete.
