Artist provacatuer Barbara Kruger is unveiling her newest installation in Los Angeles. It is a mix of trademark slogan works and new video installations at L&M Arts gallery, May 14 – July 9.

Since the mid 1990s, Kruger has created large-scale immersive video and audio installations. Enveloping the viewer with the seductions of direct address, the work continues her questioning of power, control, affection and contempt: still images now move and speak and spatialize their commentary.

I had the rare opportunity of attending a lecture Barbara gave about 10 years ago here in San Francisco. I was completely amazed at the fact that such big bold statements came out of such a petite and soft spoken woman. Never underestimate the power of typography!
