Warhol Polaroids

German superbook publisher Taschen is releasing a collection of Andy Warhol’s Poloroids. Created in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, this book reveals hundreds of the artist’s instant pictures, many seen here for the first time. Warhol often used these snaps to create his famous commissioned silkscreen portaits. From selfies to still lives, anonymous nudes to New York high society, from Cabbage Patch dolls to portraits of Mick Jagger and Debbie Harry, these impromptu images document Warhol’s era like Instagram captures our’s today, offering a unique record of his life, world, and vision.

In celebration of this publication, Christie’s is hosting an auction of Warhol’s polaroids from September 17 -29.
