Holland is well known for its amazing and iconic tulip fields. Today, they are joined by another colorful constellation. For the past few years, Dutch scientists have been exploring more efficient and sustainable ways to produce food in greenhouses. Using less land and a fraction of the water, these modern new greenhouses employ LED light to promote year-round growth and double the crop yield.
Now, Munich-based photographer Tom Hegen has shot a series of arial photographs showcasing the intricate patchwork of color and light. The results are a celebration of innovation and artistry bringing the countryside to a whole new life.
