“Fuse”

British indie electronic duo Everything But The Girl is readying for their long-awaited comeback. 24 years in the making—having released their last album in 1999—the group, consisting of Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, will return with a new album titled “Fuse.”

The record was written and produced by Thorn and Watt over spring and summer 2021. On the LP, the duo’s latest endeavor is described as a modern take on the lustrous electronic soul the band first pioneered in the mid-90s.

Everything But The Girl was formed in 1982 in an English port city called Hull. Thorn served as lead vocalist and sometimes guitarist, while Watt was the multi-instrumentalist and producer of the group. Their debut album, Eden, was released in 1984. Over the next decade and a half, Thorn and Watt put out a total of 10 albums before ultimately parting ways in 2000.

The 10-track “Fuse” was recorded in a riverside studio located in Bath with help from Thorn and Watt’s friend, the sound engineer Bruno Ellingham.

Release date for the album is April 21st. The first single the duo has dropped from Fuse is called “Nothing Left To Lose,” debuting alongside an official music video.
