“A Great British Spraycation”

Anonymous artist Banksy recently hit the headlines for his art installations across five coastal towns in the UK. To recap the works, he has released a whimsical film, entitled, “A Great British Spraycation,” commenting on the lockdown within the world and the subsequent domestic travel happening within his home country.

Banksy’s humor and social commentary continue in both the film and the works being recorded. The artist first posted the video via Instagram just as whispers around the world began linking him to the new graffiti installations across the English towns of Lowestoft, Gorleston, Oulton Broad, Cromer and Great Yarmouth. Perhaps more prominent than the works itself, are the reactions from the seaside crowd, some of which laugh at the work, while others look back in disgust.

The film is an intimate look into the process of one of the 21st Centuries most mysterious artists. One that continues to play by his own rules and his own schedule, no matter what the public thinks of him.

Watch the film here.
