A New Secret Wish

A cryptic message has appeared on German singer Claudia Brücken’s website. It simply says, “Claudia, Susanne and Stephen are making finishing touches to…” It was followed with a graphic teaser and music sample followed by, “Claudia and Susanne progress into 2020. Whatever next…?”

Both Claudia and Susanne were originally in a band in the 80s called Propaganda. Stephen Lipson was one of the three producers on their first and only album as a group, “A Secret Wish” on Trevor Horn’s preeminent record label Zang Tum Tumb (ZTT). The album was very ahead of its time and was almost more of a performance art piece than a traditional album. It took over 2 years to complete and along with Steve Lipson was produced by Trevor Horn and Paul Morley. In About a year after completion, the group disbanded.

Since then, Claudia has continued to collaborate with other artists, shared stints in two other bands and released two solo albums. In March of 2018, Claudia and Susanne reunited at The Garage in London to perform “A Secret Wish” in its entirety live over the course of 2 nights under the guise “X Propaganda.” The show received outstanding response.

During the later part of 2019 they took that show to Germany, playing all the major cities. I was fortunate enough to be in the front row of the Berlin show. I felt like I was in a dream world!

Considering everything we’ve all been going through lately, I for one could use a special treat! I can’t wait to see what Claudia, Susanne and Stephen are cooking up for us. The first teaser has already got my head spinning. Stay tuned for more!
