Pride season is looking a little different this year, as Pride events around the world continue to be cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
But that won’t stop LGBTQ people around the world celebrating their freedom and individuality in their own way – something that’s being exemplified by Calvin Klein’s new Pride campaign.
#PROUDINMYCALVINS see a range of LGBTQ creatives pose open up about their experiences and reveal what Pride means to them in a series of confessional videos.
The stars who’ve been shot by photographer Ryan McGinley are: Model and actor Ama Elsesser; model and poet Reece King; 13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman; artist Gia Woods; model and actor Mina Gerges; actor and activist Jari Jones; Brazilian drag pop queen Pabllo Vittar; deaf artist Chella Man and his partner, photographer MaryV.
For this year’s Pride campaign Calvin Klein has partnered with OutRight Action International on their COVID-19 LGBTIQ Global Emergency Fund, which offers financial help to LGTBQ+ organisations helping people impacted by the coronavirus crisis.
The brand is also supporting onePulse Foundation established by the owner of the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, and has committed funds which will be used to help build the National Pulse Memorial and Museum, set to open in 2022.
